About the department
The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 1965. It was elevated to an under Graduate Department in 1979 with Dr. P.K. Saraswathy Amma as the HoD. Subsequently it was upgraded as a Post Graduate Department in 1999 with an intake of 12 students per batch. The department is well equipped with laboratories for physical, inorganic and organic branches and they are second to none. The department has been consistently maintaining a good result in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
