secure a minimum

of the programmes. The department of Political
Science intends to make quality education with
in the reach of common students to develop their
talent in political life and ensure their social
compatibility to shoulder the responsibility of
later life. Most of the students studying here
are from the economically weaker sections of the
society. They need an effective guidance. The
programme seeks to develophigh level of understanding
of the contemporary political and social issues
in their national and international contexts.
It also aims to develop analytical skills in students
that can be applied in a wide range of careers. |
Studies in political
science is a vital part of an education for life
and work in the contemporary world and combine
well with other humanities and social science
disciplines. The studies about the Indian Constitution
enable the students to have a proper understanding
about their Fundamental Rights and duties which
is very essential for the proper democratic functioning
of the society. |
The
elective paper Human Rights is so designed as
to facilitate and encourage both theoretical and
empirical study there by setting a background
for students to have greater interest in human
rights. In our department library, we have more
than 500 books available to the students. The
HOD is in charge of the library. Every Friday
library books are issued to the students. We also
provide computer facility to the students. |
There
is an active alumni association under the guidance
of an elected secretary from among the former
students. Sri: Aneesh, the former college union
chairman, is the present secretary of the association.
An executive committee under him is working for
the uplift of the department. The present students
