About the department
The Department of Botany was started in the year 1977 with three faculty members under Prof. P.K. Krishnan Namboothiri. To Create awareness on conservation of endangerd species and plants of ethnic importance, the Department maintains a botanical garden, herbal garden and butterfly garden. The Department also has a collection of herbaria of the locality.
