of the Department |
The
department of Commerce started functioning
with the introduction of Commerce
group in Pre-Degree in the year 1967.
A full-fledged commerce department
came into being in the year 2001 with
the introduction of the B.Com marketing
degree course under semester system.
The faculty comprises of 4 members.
Three batches have successfully passed
out since the induction of this course.

The selection
of students of this department is done purely
based on merit.
A student who passed the higher secondary examination
with 35% can join for the degree programme. A
student who passed the degree examination with
55% marks can join the post graduate course. |

| Extension
activities |
An
Entrepreneurship Development Club was launched
in Nov 2003, under the aegis of Industries and
Commerce department of Kerala and Kerala Institute
of Entrepreneurship Development. The club envisages
to inculcate entrepreneurship culture in youngsters
as also identifies business talents in prospective
ones.
A
seminar on the preparation of project report was
conducted on Nov 2006. A workshop on soap manufacturing
was conducted on Nov 2006 as also one on Mushroom
culture on Dec 2006.
A one day seminar on waste Management was conducted
on Feb 2007. Industrial visits are being planned.
